Monday Update

Monday Update, May 25, 2009

Over this last weekend: My wife and I decided to go see her brother and his wife up in the town of Blaine, Wa. We had a wonderful time with them up north. Blaine is a very quiet town and is VERY close to the Canadian border. We had a BBQ in their back yard, followed by a very competitive game of spades where the gals killed the dudes. The next day we went with them to an interesting lecture at WWU where a professor from Notre Dame was presenting the dual natures of Christ along with the Trinity though the methods of Physics and Philosophy. Afterwords we spent time hanging out in Bellingham and going out to lunch at Boston Pizza. By the way if you ever get a chance to go to Boston Pizza do it! One of my favorite places when I lived in Canada. We also hit up a very cool coffee shop in Bellingham, although unfortunately I have forgotten the name of it now. Yet all in all it was a great trip!
Sunday was church, and after church my wife and I went to my parents house to visit with my Grandma and Aunt from Wisconsin. When that was over I had to head over to the next town over and prepare for a community service we do once a moth called Vespers. We usually have around 50 - 60 people show up but this time it was closer to 20 most likely due to the holiday weekend and the great weather. But it was a great time of fellowship with people from all over the community.
And today was a day of relaxing. My wife and I took a boat from our house to the island and spent the day in the water and at the cabin with family and friends. I was able to catch up on a lot of reading, and I even tried to do some scuba diving. I have never attempted this until today and was horrible at it. Something about getting used to breathing under water just doesn't click for me.
Today's Events: (Holiday) Take it easy. Read books.

To-Do-List this week: Plan an 8th grade event for my 8th graders in my youth group. Clean the house.
