Vacation

So I finally got things in line to take my wife out for vacation. It took a lot of work in re-adjusting what our priorities were but we finally got it all figured out. For the first time since we got back from our honeymoon we were able to spend a whole weekend together.

So what did we do?

We went out to my grandparents beach house in Long Beach, Washington. It was a very peaceful and exciting trip. We walked around a saw the different stores in town. We also paid our respects to the famous "Jake the Alligator Man". We enjoyed a small hike and got to see two beautiful lighthouses and some wonderful scenery of the coast. It was so beautiful to take it all in; not to mention that we had perfect weather. I took some time aside to close my eye's and  silently worship God thanking Him for his creation. I have never really done that before.

Before we got ready for bed we would walk down to the ocean from the house one last time during the night to watch the sun disappear into the clouds. For the first time in our marriage I didn't have to worry about being somewhere, doing something, or making a deadline. Instead I just focused my attention on Worshiping God and loving my wife. I hope that we will find time to do this again soon. It was truly refreshing.

Hopefully I will figure out how to post some pictures of our adventure.

Cheers!

Good for you Kevin. My wife and I have taken one night a week for the past 10 1/2 years to hang out without doing any work. We also take one trip together per year and now one additional trip per year with the kids. Of course this year is just one long trip with the kids so we are looking forward to our time without our precious hellians.
